I would describe myself as a nurturer, passionate, ambitious, goal-driven, analytical, friendly, kind, empathetic, sweet but firm when needs be and an animal lover
Education and psychology have always been my passion. I love learning about the mind and seeing what it is capable of! I am super passionate about working with kids of all ages and abilities. As an experienced tutor with a background in classroom-based and face-to-face teaching, connection with my online students is very important to me. I strongly believe in the growth-mindset approach. Every child is capable of achieving success, it's just a matter of being able to meet them where they are at in terms of knowledge and skill while accomodating THEIR way of learning. As a mama bear myself, having a trusting and working relationship with the child's parent/guardian plays a significant role in the academic journey we take together.
I am 31 years old and have 5 years of mixed face-to-face and online teaching experience of Grades 1-7 for all subjects (Maths, NST, SS, HL: English, FAL: Afrikaans) . This included term planning, designing lessons, marking & moderating assessments, typing reports and class management. My qualifications includes a Bachelor of Education from IIE Varsity College, ICB Junior Bookkeeping certificate, Level 5 TEFL-certificate and I am currently studying my Bachelor of Social Sciences (Psychology & Counselling major).
