At MindSet Up, I teach the way your child learns. I provide a safe learning environment that nurtures my students' psycho-social wellbeing, self-confidence and encourages learning engagement. Every student is a unique individual who enters the classroom with their own identity, cultural and religious background, beliefs, and personality. I would describe myself as a nurturer, passionate, ambitious, goal-driven, analytical, friendly, kind and empathetic individual. I am a proud mom of one sweet little boy and 3 furry babies. I am an animal lover and love helping others.

Education and psychology have always been my passion. I love learning about the mind and seeing what it is capable of! I am super passionate about working with kids of all ages, personalities and abilities. As an experienced tutor of 5 years with a beginning as a school teacher in classroom-based and face-to-face teaching, connection with my online students is very important to me. I strongly believe in the growth-mindset approach. Every child is capable of achieving success, it's just a matter of being able to meet them where they are at in terms of knowledge and skill while accomodating THEIR way of learning. As a mama bear myself, having a trusting and working relationship with the child's parent/guardian plays a significant role in the academic journey we take together.

I am 31 years old. I have taught grades 1-7 for various subjects (Maths, NST, SS, HL: English, FAL: Afrikaans) in the CAPS, IEB, Cambridge, Australian and Irish curriculum. My experience includes term planning, designing lessons, marking & moderating assessments, typing reports and class management. I have a Bachelor of Education from IIE Varsity College, ICB Junior Bookkeeping certificate and Level 5 TEFL-certificate .
I envision myself attaining a masters degree in Educational psychology within the next 6 years
